Veterinary Surgeon

I studied and graduated in Turkey in 2021. In my last year of university I worked with my brother who is also a veterinary surgeon in his small animal clinic. During my education I also studied in Germany for 1 year with the Erasmus program. After I graduated, I worked as an emergency veterinarian on night shifts and then I got an opportunity to work in UK as a veterinary surgeon in 2022 and have been practising in UK since. My love of animals started with our childhood border collie, Mico. Now I have 2 cats named Simba and Guccuk, that I took in as strays, even though they're 9, they're still my babies.

I've been a veterinary nurse since 1994. I have enjoyed nursing all sorts of animals, large and small. I have training in hydrotherapy and have a special interest in our senior animals ailments. I also have a diploma in Puppy Training, Pet Psychology and a certificate in Pet Dental Care. I feel so lucky to be able to work with animals and to be able to help with their care. At home my husband and I have a Ralph a rescue dog, Sid the cat and Ellie the tortoise.

I qualified in 2013 after completing my apprenticeship at the practice. From a very young age I knew that I wanted to be a vet nurse, wanting to help and care for animals and their welfare. I feel really lucky to be doing a job that I love. My dog Vinny is a huge part of my life. My favourite thing is curling up with Vinny on the sofa with a film.

I've worked in the veterinary industry since 2016 in various practices which has given me a diverse interest in patient welfare from emergency care, exotics, inpatients and orthopaedics. In my free time I love taking my terrible terriers out in the countryside and spoiling my one eyed cat! I have also been known to take in the odd bit of wildlife from squirrels to a nest of orphaned birds.

I've worked with many different pets, large and small. I have a handsome New Forest pony called Star, who I've had since he was three years old. I also have a Pomsky puppy called Wolfie, who has taught me a lot about raising a dog. I grew up with a lot of different pets which has given me my passion to care for all animals and to help their owners.

Rachel and all the staff at Medivet are lovely. Rachel particularly has gone above and beyond to support me with my Cat Xerces in the past. He is always very well looked after. Every vet is lovely and attentive and you can tell that they care about animals here. 😸

I have always been treated very well with my pets, they always fit you in an appointment. My pets are always calm when they are seen by one of the staff. I would recommend them to my friends, it’s the surgery in Brighton 😊

Medivet made me and my cat Luna feel welcomed and that's why we have switched to them. The staff there are friendly and welcoming. The vet nurse operated on my cat amazingly she recovered quickly and is back to her self.
